  I appreciate your recommendation, and it is well received.

  First and foremost my blog is written for and at my pleasure. If I can’t have fun with it then it’s a waste of my time. That’s how I feel about it.

  In various ways I have fun with each of my blog articles. In this case it was with the title. Some get it. Some don’t. I didn’t title it as I did for anyone’s sake other than my own. It was purely for fun. If I can’t have fun with it my own way then I won’t do it.

  I don’t particularly care about the level of readership. I do care about having fun. I do care about helping people. I do care about good research. I do care about fairness.

  So long as my content is well researched, fair, is helpful to whoever reads it, and so long as I can have fun doing it then I’m content.

  Oh, and insofar as this particular title is concerned, so far it seems to be working quite nicely. After reading your and slimboyfat's remarks I checked my blog stats. For whatever reason, this particular article seems to be a bit of a hit. Maybe it's that fun-laced titled.

  It’s patently wreckless to suggest anyone should obey an instruction they cannot determine as sound.

  Watchtower is asking for blind obedience. That’s always dangerous.

  Likelihood has nothing to do with whether an instruction is or is not sound.

  Either an instruction is sound or not.

  You’re attempting to rationalize Watchtower’s readying Jehovah’s Witnesses to act on instruction from Watchtower even if it’s unsound.

  I’m glad you have an opinion, and I’m glad you shared it. Readers can make of it what they will, which is how it should be.

  I think “Governing Body” and “honesty” do not belong in the same sentence.

  Anyone who’s willing to lie to a child and, worse, have a child lie for them is flat out dishonest. In fact I’d say they’re evil.

  Everyone’s entitled to an opinion. Here’s mine: There is no context within which a rational person should obey instruction regardless of whether a human mind can find soundness in it or not. None.

  Watchtower’s Governing Body is treading on very dangerous ground teaching this sort of rubbish to Jehovah’s Witnesses.

  We have a mind. Either we use it to think and decide soundly or we do not. Watchtower is teaching people that it’s okay to act contrary to sound thinking.

  If albumin is allowed when it's not from blood, could white blood cells from mother's milk be allowed?

  i think something that would totally "close the gap" with jw's and not accepting blood but accepting it through the fractions of fractions would be to harvest white blood cells from mother's milk (there are already mother's milk banks) and then transfuse them to witness patients who need wbc's.

  since technically they are not from blood, i think it would be an interesting loophole.

  anyone here know about a disease that can only be cured/treated with wbc's?

  I’ve confronted Governing Body members on the point you raise in face-to-face conversation. They clammed up. Each flatly refused to have the discussion. In each case it was a very awkward moment for them.

  I’ve also confronted various Watchtower apologists on this point. Most of the time they’d end up saying if medicine decided to extract white cells from milk for transfusion it’d be okay because the Bible nowhere prohibits eating milk like it prohibits eating blood. When I pointed out we were not talking about “eating” milk or blood but, rather, about “eating” white cells, they’d usually launch into voodoo suggesting that white cells in milk are not the same as white cells in blood. Pure rubbish!

  Watchtower’s blood taboo has no point of reason. It’s not biblically supportable. It’s not scientifically supportable. Watchtower’s Governing Body knows this and it’s precisely why they refuse to discuss the matter in full public view, or even privately with someone who understands the doctrine and the science.

  Watchtower’s notion of blood would have people think four components are divided from one another when the fact is all products rendered from blood are rendered from on component: plasma.

  It looks like this:

  1. Whole blood is extracted.

  2. Red cells are separated from plasma, leaving a red cell depleted plasma.

  3. Platelets and white cells are separated from red cell depleted plasma, leaving a platelet and white cell depleted plasma. From this process three distinct products are rendered: platelets, white cells and fresh frozen plasma.

  4. Cryo-rich plasma (also known as cryoprecipitate) is separated from platelet and white cell depleted plasma (fresh frozen plasma), leaving a cryo-poor plasma (also known as cryosupernatant).

  5. This process leaves cryo-poor plasma (cryosupernatant) as a separate and distinct blood product.

  Here's a rudementary illustration of the processes at work using centrifuge to separate blood products:

  Anyone willing to overtly suggest a community should ready itself to obey directions that are unsound to the human mind is irrational. Irrational men hurt people. It’s that simple.

  Watchtower’s 8-man Governing Body is preparing to have Jehovah’s Witnesses obey instruction that will lead to their injury.

  The Catholic Church refers to its form of expulsion as “medicinal”.

  Watchtower practices the same thing and for the same stated reason.
